Being An anime fan 10 years ago

(With the Huge Influx of Anime/Comics fans, there’s no longer any shame in Showing Support for your Favorite series with displaying your inspired Clothing and Figures.)

If you have been a fan of anime and manga since 2009 or maybe earlier, you’d know that anime has not always been particularly popular among your peers, but nowadays it’s way more accepted to be an open fan of series like Naruto, death note, Tokyo Ghoul and etc.

I can remember having to be wary of who would see me reading my manga in my middle school lol, you’d be instantly dubbed as the weirdo nerd of your Class and when you‘re young what people think tend to matter way more than it should. But now as i scroll on social media and speak to a few teens i know, all i see are kids parading in anime/manga influenced merchandise and speaking of the latest episodes and chapters in Facebook groups.

It’s not uncommon to see someone rocking the survey corps jacket from the Top show/Manga Attack on Titan. when the Dragon-ball Z: Broly movie was announced and released you could really see how much influence and popularity it had because it had such a big draw from a variety of people who had no shame in showing their excitement for the release.

  • One piece
  • sword art online
  • DragonBall super
  • Naruto
  • One punch man
  • My hero academia
  • Black Clover

anime such as these are becoming household names and although some are a bit basic like a majority of Shonen manga BUT eventually peoples interest will grow more and more until they discover gems such as

  • Berserk
  • Kingdom
  • Hunter x Hunter
  • Hajime no ippo
  • Vagabond
  • Fullmetal Alchemist
  • Kyou Kara Ore Wa

If you don’t think more people are taking this genre serious just take a casual scroll through some anime related Facebook groups, and you will see just how serious some men and women take their favorite shows and characters. i can understand a persons loyalty to their show or characters as people can really relate to the shows and in doing so they help people cope with real life problems and for someone to insult that character or show they will take it personal.

but this is no complaint the growth among the anime/manga community is very much welcomed and we can enjoy watching the growth of new shows and fans.
