Welcome back to the Cavern for more One Piece Content! this post isn’t a major one but it’s something I’ve wanted to write for a while now.
The Blackbeard Pirates vastly surpassed the Strawhat Crew Two years ago prior to the events of the Paramount War. Most fans brush off Teech’s original crew members as being insignificant in terms of Individual Strength.
Encounter #1
On several occasions before the events of Skypia, The Strawhats had narrowly avoided being wiped out by Single Members of Blackbeards Crew! The first man capable of decimating the Strawhats was the Sharpshooter, “Supersonic” Van Auger. He’s a bit overlooked due to the perception of firearms in the story but wait until you see the reasoning.
The Strawhats were miles away from the Jaya Coast & were unable to see anything in the distance! even with the use of their binoculars in the hands of Usopp no island was in sight. None of the Crew heard any gunshots or saw anything except for chopper! a majority of the crew were present on the deck.
The Strawhats didn’t know it but they were in the sights of one of the Greatest Snipers in The World! The were Completely vulnerable & utterly helpless without question, if Auger had chose to take them out one by one & there would be no way to stop him. The only survivors would have been Luffy & that’s if Auger was without the ability to utilize Haki Gunfire which has yet to be seen in the story. (outside of Kuja arrows) & anyone who happened to be inside their rooms or Kitchen.
Encounter #2
This is more along with Luck/Fate rather than combat but it was a very serious encounter nonetheless. Five other men who had eaten the apples had met an abrupt & violent demise!
For the second time, Fate had yet again spared Luffy from meeting an untimely end. It all happened so quickly but this was like a slap in the face for us to realize how lucky Luffy had been in a single day.
Encounter #3
The Physical Strength of “Champion” Jesus Burgess two years ago was nothing to overlook! Burgess did not have a bounty on his head at the time but even still he rampaged on Jaya & decimated every Pirate foolish enough to take his challenge!
Burgess is a Champion Grappler & for Luffy or Zoro to Challenge him, it would have been an extremely tough Battle! He had the muscle to lift a building, leap high into the air & toss it with accuracy! he managed to do all of this within seconds.
Burgess & his fellow Crew were able to endure a Firefist From 2nd Division Commander, Portgas D. Ace! they were able to immediately regain composure without any significant damage. Luffy & Zoro both at this time had no technique comparable to a Firefist from Ace, & this is Pre Gears keep in mind.
Encounter #4
When Luffy had finally crossed paths with Marshall D. Teech, with him not being aware of his updated Bounty, it allowed him to avoid clashing with with the Pirate Captain & Future Emperor Of The Sea! A battle between the two of them would’ve without a doubt resulted in Luffy being captured or Killed
Encounter #5
Teech had chased down the Strawhats with his powerful crew But yet again Fate had made sure that Luffy would survive & he was launched into the air by the Knock–up stream just in time & avoided being decimated by the Blackbeard Pirates.
Which ambitious Man will Fate favor in their inevitable Clash in the New World?

blackbeard is nowhere near the strength of kaido and if somehow luffy is going to defeat kaido, blackbeard has no chance against luffy

Hmm Teech, minutes after consuming the Gura Gura had the capability to sink Marineford & he also only had the Yami Yami for a few months pre-timeskip before taking down Ace
It’s been 2 years & it’s very possible that Blackbeard would be capable of sinking the Onigashima Island into the sea with his Power.

He was already powerful before consuming the fruits keep in mind. The Yami Yami drawbacks cause the user the Absorb Everything so he feels twice as much damage
He’s Withstood insane levels of attacks despite this weakness & always managed to get back up. He was only keeping his strength hidden as Shanks had stated

I’m split on it with honestly because his darkness abilities should nullify Kaidos Toughness on dragon form atleast

luffy beat kaido in dragon form, I think kaido stronger in human form

we even dont know whether he is supreme king that is the haki capabilities of teech

Nah I don’t think he could with the drawbacks of his Logia But at the same time it wouldn’t be easy for Kaido to get past the Quake Bubbles

Maybe in past in impel down and marinefold period luffy might have been weak but post time skip i dont think so

This post got me freaking out again over the Blackbeard pirates! Holy cow, are they such a monster of a crew pre time skip. Everything about them screamed serious mysterious and dangerous. Great post, holy heck, I’m more hyped than ever!
